My Favorite Room

Since we moved from Bahrain in 2001, we shifted to a quite neighborhood which was close to Kemmannu, yup, that place is called Santhekatte, Kallianpur. Then, we decided to keep the name of our house, then a few weeks later, our house got a name "Al Suffah". It has 2 bedrooms on the ground floor and 1 bedroom upstairs with a balcony, 2 sitting rooms (one up and one down), a dinning hall,  a store room and of course my favorite of all the kitchen room with a pantry.

From breakfast to dinner, the kitchen room is everything. From the steamy idlis and crispy dosas, appa dosas, tej seviyaan and omlettes for breakfast to the aromatic curries and vegetable dishes for dinner. But also the yummiest cakes and the ramadan treats. We search for every recipe ranging from chicken, mutton, cauliflower,fish, prawns, rice, dal to cakes, noodles and pizzas as well as Cuisines ranging from Indian, Continental to Italian and Middle Eastern. Every Friday, there was a special meal and it includes green chicken curry and vegetable pulao as well as kasoori methi chicken and chapati, mangalore chicken curry (we called it tuesday chicken curry) and neer dosa, chicken 65 etc.  But for Sundays, fish curries, fish fry along with tomato saar is a staple. Throughtout Ramadan, we had chapati and some accompaniments for sehri but for iftaar, it was life a feast. We can cook the staple of iftaar i.e., the chicken cutlets as well as some pakodas and samosas, oats, sooji, fruits, potato bondas etc.

In order to search for recipes, we refer to the cooking books of Nita Mehta as well as the cookery shows on TLC (Formerly known as Discovery Travel and Living) of Nigella Lawson, Kylie Kwong, Rachel Allen  to name a few. We also seached for recipes online. When we get the recipes, we followed the instructions given in the cooking books, as well as online. Next time, when you go to the kitchen, hve fun and say "Bon appetite".

  

Toothache

It was 9:00 am on November 1st (Karnataka Rajyotsva), I woke up early and i had breakfast just before the dental appointment, which was just 1 hour ahead. After the breakfast, my dad told me to get ready for the dental appointment for the removal of 2 wisdom teeth (upper and lower). At approximately 10:00 in the morning, we approached a nearby dental clinic in our neighborhood. We waited for 5 monutes for the dentist's arrival. After 5 minutes, the dentist arrived and we are ready. during the dental treatment, he noticed two wisdom teeth on both the upper and the lower jaws. He gave me some of the most painful treatments for removing them. I was extremely scared of the injections, especially the needles. Afterwards, the most painful movement comes, the removal of 2 wisdom teeth and the stitches. I used to have this experience when I was 6 years old. After I came home from the treatment, the swelling begins and it was very difficult foor me to eat any hot food and even to communicate. He told me that I can eat anything. I took so many antibiotics and i puked a lot for 2 days. After 2-3 days, the swelling was reduced and I became so weak. A few days later, my condition is improving a lot and the swelling was reduced with a help of a ice pack.    

College Days - part 1

On the 16th of August 2007 at 9:30,  I entered a computer lab of Tracks India Infotech and it was the first day of my BCA course. On the same day , I met a girl named Shruti from Hebri. Her twin sister, Swathi also took the same course. I also met many people including Jayashree, Vasanti, Rashmi, Rupina Dayana and the other girl by the name of Shaza. I also make friends especially the boys by the names of Deekshith, Rakshith and Nischay. In every 1st class of 1st semester in every course, we are having computer classes. Afterwards, it was followed by communication skills and basic mathematics. The toughest of all the subjects was digital systems, in which i flunked twice but i cleared it in the July 2009 re-exam(1st sem) along with Computer Fundamentals .

On the 1st day of college the students introduced themselves about what are their names and what are their future ambitions. Soon, I made new friends. At the end of the 1st semester, 2 girls (Rupina Dayana and Shaza) left the course. In the third sem, a new student by the name of Shashank came to the BCA course by lateral entry. He is very cooperative and he helps everyone when they have problems.
During the break time, we discuss the assignment questions and answers and we discussed which page numbers the answers are. Apart from the assignments, we discuss everything, ranging from movies to tv shows and the accessories they have to the subjects. I found the later subjects of BCA very cool and intresting and i scored very good grades and in the 5th Sem, i cleard all the subjects with a B grade.

In the final year of BCA, there was a project report and it was a team work. Our team project title is called "tours and travels" and it consists of me, Vasanthi and Rashmi. For the girls we have artificial inteliigence, and for deekshith, rakshith, shashank it was image processing. On the last day of college (project report) we gave the presentation of out project and it was a success. Afterwards, we said goodbye to each other. Deekshith applied for vidyadeep scholarship of the university. On the last day of the last exam of BCA, the exam was a success and we bade farewell to each other and we wished them a better future ahead.
